Are you excited for Christmas yet? Our team at LFC City Explorer certainly are! Winter is always one of the most exciting times in the football season. Liverpool FC have it all to play for with a whopping 10 fixtures over the next four weeks across the Premier League, Champions League, League Cup, FA Cup and even the chance for more trophy glory with the Club World Cup.
But the festive season shouldn’t just be about football. Liverpool is one of the best cities to visit when it comes to getting in the Christmas spirit. The city centre is decorated with stunning lights and themed scenery and there’s always an array of events on offer. To help you plan your Christmas itinerary, we’ve rounded up some of the best Christmas activities in Liverpool this year.
- Liverpool Light Spectacular – A world-famous light display can now be found in the city centre. This activity features an increase 70-metre LED tunnel of light and a music show scheduled four times throughout the day.
- Ice Festival – The Ice Festival returns to the Pier Head this year and guarantees fun for the whole family. There’s an ice rink, giant ice slide, funfair rides and stalls selling a range of food and drink that’s sure to warm you up.
- St George’s Hall Christmas Cinema – This stunning venue will offer you a chance to watch a classic Christmas film from December 17th to 23rd. You can relax on a comfy beanbag or luxury sofa while enjoying everyone’s favourite Christmas movies like Home Alone, Love Actually and Elf.
- Story Time with Santa – Do your little ones fancy listening to a story from Santa himself? He will be paying a visit to Liverpool Town Hall throughout the month with his friend Buddy the Elf to tell a few stories and maybe even a few sing-alongs.
If you plan to use our LFC tour bus in the next few weeks (why wouldn’t you?!), we would like to alert you to a slight time change. We are now running on our winter times which just means that the tour finishes an hour earlier than usual. You can still catch the bus everyday at the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool from 10am but the last tour will now leave the dock at 3pm rather than 4pm.
